Jordan Love's Packers, Matthew Stafford's Rams set to collide on Thanksgiving Eve in 2026

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The full NFL schedule will be released on Thursday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. CT, but the Green Bay Packers can mark their calendars for at least one of their 17 games.

They'll travel to SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA., for a date with a familiar foe in the Los Angeles Rams. The game will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. CT on Netflix. That's right—the Packers are playing a regular-season football game on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

It'll mark the third consecutive year that the Packers will play on—or around—Thanksgiving. They welcomed the Miami Dolphins to Lambeau Field in 2024 and beat the Detroit Lions at Ford Field last year.

According to the team website, it's the first time since 1938 that the Packers will be playing a game on a Wednesday. Because the game falls in the middle of the week, the Packers and Rams will likely each share a bye week in Week 11, though that's unofficial.

Matt LaFleur and Sean McVay might as well share a division at this point. The head coaches of each respective team have squared off four times in the last five seasons, with the Packers getting the better of the Rams in every contest. Dating back to the NFC Divisional Round for the 2020 season, the Packers are 5-0 against the Rams. Going back even further to 2007, the Packers are 10-1 against the Rams in their last 11 matchups.

The Packers and Rams last met in 2024 in Los Angeles. Jordan Love threw for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a thrilling inter-conference clash that culminated with a defensive stop, preserving the Packers' victory. The then-rookie tandem of Evan Williams and Edgerrin Cooper helped defend a pass from Stafford intended for tight end Colby Parkinson on 4th-and-5, resulting in a turnover on downs and a 24-19 win for the visitors. Williams was in tight coverage on Parkinson, while Cooper blitzed from his linebacker spot and pressured Stafford into a somewhat errant throw with 1:02 left in the game.
