This offseason, the Miami Dolphins made a ton of changes to the roster on both sides of the ball. Malik Willis is taking over at quarterback for Tua Tagovailoa, while a lot of familiar faces are now gone.
Two of the biggest changes from years past are the departures of Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill from the wide receiver room. Now, it's a few new faces leading the way.
For Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport, the projected starting WR room for Miami in 2026 features a returning Malik Washington and two new faces: "WR: Jalen Tolbert, Tutu Atwell, Malik Washington."
This projected starting wide receiver room isn't the one that Dolphins fans were hoping to see, as there isn't a rookie receiver, and instead two veterans who are only rentals this year.

Jalen Tolbert, the former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, isn't a terrible starting option for Miami. He has some upside and could be a decent option for Willis this year.
Tutu Atwell, meanwhile, doesn't carry remotely the same potential. He's a smaller, faster receiver who has been a decent player for the Los Angeles Rams for a while.
But Atwell doesn't have the same high ceiling as Tolbert, and his floor is incredibly low. Combined with Tolbert and Washington, the Dolphins' projected WR room is a bit disappointing despite there being two new intriguing faces.

The rookie WR options for Miami this season are Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, and Kevin Coleman Jr. While Coleman isn't likely to start, Douglas or Bell would be a lot more exciting than Atwell.
Bell is recovering from a torn ACL, but he might be ready for the start of the season, and would surely be in the starting WR rotation if he's healthy to play.
While Douglas was a reach on draft night, the Dolphins clearly have a plan with him after using a third-rounder to select him.
With Miami trying to see what they have in the new-look WR room, not starting even one rookie in 2026 would be a mistake.
Douglas, Bell, and Coleman Jr. are the future of this team at the WR position, and for none of them to get into the projected starting lineup would be a big mistake in 2026. This is only a projection, but it would be a bad result for Miami's WR room this year.
