Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently held a surprise media appearance after what has been a tumultuous period for the club, even making some offensive comments towards a female journalist.
There has been plenty of drama surrounding Real Madrid off the pitch in recent weeks, but on it, they suffered a crucial defeat against rivals Barcelona, handing Hansi Flick's side the La Liga title.
Barcelona were likely to secure the title anyway, given their healthy lead at the top, but it would have been significantly more satisfying for them to do it against Madrid.
Off the pitch, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni were involved in a dressing-room altercation, leaving the former unconscious before being taken to hospital.
Perez's press conference was predictably spicy, making some questionable comments about a female journalist, and she's now hit back at the Madrid president.

Speaking at a press conference earlier this week, Perez confirmed that he would be calling an election for his position, adding further drama to the Spanish club.
Perez then referenced an article written by a female journalist, Maria Jose Fuentealamo, for Spanish outlet ABC, criticising her knowledge of football in a, perhaps, sexist manner.
"I don’t even know if she knows anything about football.”
The Real Madrid president clearly had it in for ABC, as he was also involved in a back-and-forth with another journalist, questioning a story he had written for the publication.
Another questionable comment made by Perez saw him refer to the journalists in the room as 'ugly', barring one female reporter who had asked a question.
“Let the girl speak, the rest of you are so ugly.”

In reaction to Perez's comments, Fuentealamo hit back at the Real Madrid president saying that she didn't expect those references as she doesn't even talk about football in her column.
“I don’t talk about football in my column. I talk about what Real Madrid, as a historic institution, represents for society. About its colours. About sportsmanship. Because I’m a mother, and I know what children play, who their idols are, and how to nurture role models."
Fuentealamo then went in a little harder on Perez, referencing the comments that she is a woman.
“Yes, Mr President, that’s who I am. A woman, oh, woman, who — what does it matter what I know about football? I do know the damage that happens outside the Bernabeu. Because this isn’t about football. And now I’m the one wondering if you know that or not.”
It's certainly not a good look for Perez, and it's not a press conference that painted him in a good light.
