Tottenham handed grim prediction for final 2 EPL games by former Leeds striker and they should…

Tottenham have to beat both Chelsea and Everton in their remaining fixtures to preserve top-flight status.

Tottenham Hotspur missed out on a great opportunity to place some distance between themselves and West Ham United in the Premier League relegation battle. They squandered chances and made poor decisions on and off the ball against Leeds United at home on Monday evening.

On a high of back-to-back victories under Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs were expected to kick on and make it three wins in a row. Instead, they drew 1-1 with Leeds United, and had it not been for goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky’s brilliant save to deny Sean Longstaff deep into stoppage time, De Zerbi’s side would have come out of the game empty-handed.

Following a score draw with the Whites, Tottenham are only two points above West Ham, who occupy the 18th spot. And their final two games of the 2025/26 season are going to be very difficult, as Spurs must take on bitter rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night next week before closing out the Premier League campaign on Sunday at home to Everton.

Former Leeds United striker makes telling admission on Tottenham’s survival chances

De Zerbi missed out on a third straight win as the Tottenham boss, but extended his unbeaten run to four matches after losing only his opening game against Sunderland.

It was a valuable point on Monday evening, but after watching Spurs in action against Leeds United, former Whites striker Jermaine Beckford is not overly optimistic about Tottenham’s chances of beating both Chelsea and Everton in their final two games. He added that the North Londoners will also be anxiously keeping tabs on West Ham’s remaining fixtures against Newcastle United and Leeds.

“They’ve got two really tricky fixtures coming up,” Jermaine Beckford said on LUTV.

“Chelsea, listen, anything could happen against Chelsea. You don’t know which Chelsea side are going to turn up. It’s a London derby, so you know, form goes out of the window, and it’s just one side of London against another.

“And in the last game of the season, Everton, who have hit some really good form recently as well. Spurs will be worrying, especially looking at West Ham.

“West Ham have got Newcastle away, and then they have to play against us [Leeds] at their place. So, Spurs have to win both games. I can’t see them winning both games.”

De Zerbi makes a plea for Leeds to do a favour

De Zerbi congratulated Leeds for holding Spurs to a stalemate at the start of the week, whilst encouraging them to produce a display of similar ilk against their relegation rivals, West Ham, in their final game of the season. The Italian boss knows that just one slip-up against either Chelsea or Everton could spell disaster, with the Irons ready to pounce and capitalise on any opportunity.

One cannot blame Daniel Farke’s Leeds for having a similar level of motivation on the final day of the campaign against West Ham as they showed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday. So, the onus is entirely on De Zerbi’s men to perform at their best and beat both Chelsea and Everton.

They are two tough fixtures, but having gone on a four-game unbeaten run and the spirit levels high within the camp, Tottenham will back themselves to get the job done and secure top-flight safety.
