The Las Vegas Raiders on Wednesday signed veteran defensive tackle Benito Jones, continuing their effort to strengthen the interior of the defensive line before OTAs begin next week. To clear a roster spot, Las Vegas waived defensive tackle Brodric Martin with an injury designation after he appeared in one game for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025 and was later claimed by the Raiders in December.
Jones, 28, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of University of Mississippi in 2020 with the Miami Dolphins. After spending time on and off Miami's active roster and practice squad, he was claimed by the Detroit Lions before the 2022 season. He played two years in Detroit before returning to the Dolphins on one-year deals in 2024 and 2025.

Across 71 career appearances with Miami and the Lions, the 6-foot-1, 335-pound defensive lineman has recorded 83 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and three passes defended. He has also started 38 games over the past three seasons. This past season, Jones appeared in 14 games for the Dolphins, finishing with 15 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack.
At Las Vegas, Jones joins a crowded competition at nose tackle that includes JJ Pegues, rookies Brandon Cleveland and Gary Smith III, plus International Player Pathway participant Laki Tasi. The move also adds experienced depth behind projected starter Adam Butler as the Raiders continue molding their defense under new head coach Klint Kubiak.
