Enzo Fernandez snub as Cole Palmer names his current Chelsea five-a-side team

Cole Palmer’s five-a-side team from the current Chelsea squad had a couple of surprises, with several big names left out.

Cole Palmer still has a lot to prove to secure a place at this year’s World Cup, which speaks volumes about the kind of season he has had at Chelsea to date.

Under various managers this season, Palmer has been used out wide, a position that has completely thrown him off his game and led to inconsistency on the field.

One other factor that hasn’t helped is the disappointing nature of Chelsea’s season. The current squad is bloated with talent but ravaged by injuries, as well as constant mistakes costing the Blues.

While we have reached an FA Cup final against Manchester City, you just don’t know which Chelsea side is going to turn up. And this is the last chance of securing European football this season.

Cole Palmer picks his Chelsea five-a-side team from the current squad

Speaking to TNT Sports via their TikTok channel, Cole Palmer picked a five-a-side team from his current teammates at Chelsea.

However, a couple of his picks may raise a few eyebrows, as well as leaving out some big names.

“My 5-a-side team would be Tosin, Reece, Lavia, because when he’s fit is the best ever, Joâo Pedro and Steve [Estevão].”

Judging Cole Palmer’s five-a-side team

If we’re just looking at who’s missing for the pure vibes and talent of a 5-a-side kickabout, the most glaring omission is Cole Palmer himself.

Beyond that, leaving out Moises Caicedo is a bold move. In a high-intensity 5-a-side match, you need a destroyer who doesn’t get tired, and Caicedo is essentially that.

Meanwhile, Enzo Fernandez is another big name who goes a miss.

Also, Tosin Adarabioyo has been criticised at times this season for Chelsea, so perhaps he’s one of the last names you would think of, but Palmer does state it’s due to him kicking everybody.
