For many Liverpool supporters, this has been one of the most frustrating seasons the club has had in the Premier League era.
And the statistics behind Arne Slot’s first full campaign make grim reading.
Liverpool have recorded:
* Their most late goals conceded in a Premier League season
* Their most set-piece goals conceded in a season
* Joint most defeats by a Liverpool manager this century
* The club’s worst run of results since 1953
* The first time in 113 years they’ve been beaten home and away by both Manchester clubs in the same season
Those are not small issues or isolated bad moments.
They are serious warning signs.
That’s why so many fans are struggling to understand why there appears to be no serious summer review planned around Slot’s future.
Especially after a season where performances have often looked passive, disjointed and miles below the standards supporters expect from Liverpool.
The frustration is not only aimed at Slot either.
A lot of anger is now turning towards Fenway Sports Group, Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards.
Because ultimately they are the people making the big decisions behind the scenes.
And many supporters feel they are failing to grasp just how badly things have declined this season.
What makes it worse for fans is that there still seems to be little sign of accountability.
Liverpool have spent heavily, results have collapsed, major records have been broken for the wrong reasons — and yet the messaging coming from the club still feels calm and patient.
Maybe the hierarchy genuinely believe Slot deserves more time.
Maybe they still think this squad can recover next season with the right additions.
But from a supporter perspective, it’s easy to understand why many now feel completely disconnected from the people running the club.
Because right now, Liverpool do not look like a side moving forward.
