Liverpool in focus to sign 22-year-old Brazilian–Reds have transfer path ahead

Liverpool interest in Allan Elias is nothing new. However, Brazilian reports now suggest the situation is heating up again ahead of the summer window.

As previously covered, Newcastle United have been positioned as favourites at different stages. Meanwhile, Liverpool have explored ways to structure a deal. They have even secured priority for a future move.

The 22-year-old remains a key figure for Palmeiras, with 4 goals and 3 assists in all competitions this year. This helps explain why the club continue to resist.

However, the expectation in Brazil is that pressure will increase significantly in the coming weeks. And Liverpool is the only English club still being mentioned.

Market heating up ahead of window

Fresh comments from ESPN Brazil journalist André Hernan indicate that Allan has once again become the subject of fresh enquiries as the transfer market starts to open.

He indicated that clubs are already moving to understand the situation and assess whether Palmeiras might be willing to negotiate in the next window.

The journalist made it clear that interest from Liverpool remains active.

He said: “It is not new that Liverpool want Allan. The market is starting to open and there are already enquiries and approaches regarding the player.”

Hernan added that this renewed movement is only the beginning. It is expected to be a busy period.

He explained: “Palmeiras will have to be very strong, because clubs will come hard for him. He is a player very desired by the European market.”

Palmeiras braced for wave of bids

Despite that, Palmeiras are continuing to “play hard” in negotiations. Hernan stressed that the club have consistently resisted approaches, whether they arrive directly from clubs or through the player’s representatives. In fact, Liverpool have already contacted the player’s representatives as well.

He said: “Palmeiras play hard in every sense, whether the contact comes from clubs or through the player’s representatives.”

That stance has already been demonstrated with previous rejections in the €30m to €35m (£25.7m-£30m) range. However, the expectation is that the volume and intensity of offers will increase.

According to Hernan, the final decision will ultimately sit with the club’s leadership.

He added: “It will be a decision for the presidency and the board, because the market will be strong and Allan will receive proposals and a lot of interest in this window.”

Liverpool and Napoli among main suitors

Hernan also outlined how the market is shaping up geographically. For him, the race is clearly centred on Europe’s top leagues.

He said: “For me, Allan’s market is the top European market – the Premier League or the big clubs in Italy.”

Liverpool remain the standout Premier League name, while Napoli are again said to be monitoring the situation.

However, as previously reported, Sport Witness understand that previous claims regarding specific bids from Napoli are not accurate. Even so, the Italian club have been linked.

Arias factor adds internal dynamic

There is also an internal layer to Palmeiras’ thinking that could influence the situation.

The Brazilian side signed Wolves’ attacker Arias in February as one of their marquee additions. However, he has so far been used away from his preferred role. And that is largely because Allan Elias occupies that position. He remains an undisputed starter.

Allan’s sale would not only bring in a significant fee, but also allow Palmeiras to reposition Arias into his natural role.

That possibility does not override the club’s current stance, but it does provide a sporting solution if a major offer eventually arrives.

With Allan performing, interest rising and internal alternatives already in place, the coming window is shaping up as a decisive moment. Not just for Liverpool, but for Palmeiras’ entire strategy around one of their most valuable players.
