Artem Dovbyk
Everton are interested in a potential deal for AS Roma striker Artem Dovbyk this summer, with his future in Rome in doubt.
Roma Giallorossa report that the ‘track leading to Everton’ remains alive for the Ukrainian striker this summer.
Everton offer ‘particular solution’
According to their information, Everton could offer a ‘particular solution’ to the Italian side given their shared ownership under the Friedkin group.
Everton would be considering loaning the striker until the end of next season. This would allow the 28-year-old to recover his ‘best physical condition’ and basically relaunch himself following a difficult campaign.
It would also give Everton the third striker that David Moyes seems to want this summer, without spending too much of their budget on the signing. And the relationship between the two clubs, which has not yet seen any player transfers happen, could facilitate the move for everyone.
There may be competition, though. Roma Giallorossa also report that Napoli are among the clubs who are most interested in Dovbyk. They already asked about him during the January transfer window.
His profile is one that sporting director Giovanni Manna finds ‘very pleasing’. He continues to monitor the situation around him ahead of next season.
€20m offer from Napoli
The belief is that they could return with an offer of around €20m in the coming weeks. That is something Roma would consider in the light of financial fair play and the need to make capital gains by June 30th.
A cash offer such as that would also be more favourable than a loan offer from Everton, at least in terms of the books. But it would also mean directly strengthening a team that Roma are chasing in Serie A. just three points separate them in fifth from Napoli in second.
That’s something Roma will need to weigh up in the coming weeks. Do they prefer a direct sale to Napoli or, use their relationship with Everton in the hope Artem Dovbyk reinvents himself in the Premier League?
