Jaguars strength of schedule
Last year's schedule was top-heavy for the Jaguars, with the Seahawks and Broncos on the docket, the latter on the road. With a 13-4 finish by season's end, the Jaguars performed well all around, handing the Broncos one of their three losses. They also had a handful of matchups against 12-win teams, with the only shocking Jaguars loss coming against the 6-11 Bengals.
The Jaguars have an easier schedule than average this season, with their opponents averaging a .490 winning percentage in 2025. They do have some top-end talent to deal with, including the Patriots and Broncos. While being the No. 1 seed from a prior season is often a good thing, meaning you double up your schedule with the weaker teams from your division, this isn't exactly true for the Jaguars. They'll have two matchups with the Houston Texans, one of the best teams in 2025 to not win their division.
Toughest tests: The Jaguars will have to duke it out with two of the three 14-win teams from 2025, in the Broncos and Patriots. They also have the Eagles, who are just a year removed from their triumphant Super Bowl win. The Jaguars will also have to compete with the Steelers, a division winner in 2025, but a team that will also have to settle their QB troubles this offseason. There could be a lot of variation in the difficulty of that matchup when the season comes around.
Biggest breaks: The Jaguars play in one of the tougher conferences, with the Texans having an excellent 2025 and the Colts looking like a Super Bowl contender until Week 10. This also means the Jaguars two games against the Titans and a game each with the Browns and Giants. With a group of top contenders on the docket for the Jaguars, these games are sure to provide some relief. That being said, after last season's performance against the Bengals, the Jaguars don't have the luxury of underestimating this season's competition.

Their team doesn't look significantly different in 2026, with the major change being the addition of Chris Rodriguez Jr. to replace Travis Etienne. It's difficult to say that the Jaguars have improved after this offseason, but they have not undergone changes to make them significantly worse. If all goes to plan, this should still be a playoff team.
