FIFA announces lineup for Super Bowl-style halftime show at World Cup final

(TNND) — The 2026 World Cup final will have a star-power-filled halftime show headlined by Madonna, Shakira and boy-band BTS.

For the first time, FIFA announced that the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19 will feature a Super Bowl-like concert.

The show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which FIFA said is working to raise $100 million to help children access education and soccer.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino [said on Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/DYTqnCQoffq/) the performance will bring together music and football "on the biggest stage in sport for a very special cause."

> Every child should have the opportunity to dream, and together we can help make that possible," Infantino said.

The halftime show will be curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin, who helped make the announcement alongside Sesame Street's Elmo.

While the National Football League's Super Bowl is widely known for its halftime show, performances like it are not common in the sport of soccer. Events like the Champions League final feature a pre-match concert.

No announcement has been made on how long the World Cup final performance will last, but the typical halftime in soccer doesn't typically go past 15 minutes.

"The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Halftime Show will be a truly special moment, bringing together music, football and a shared commitment to improving the lives of children around the world," Infantino said.

The World Cup is co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and is scheduled through June and July.
