Rashford has enjoyed himself in Catalunya on a season-long loan from Manchester United, playing his part in their title win by contributing 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
According to The Independent, Barcelona will “reopen negotiations next week on Marcus Rashford’s future in the hope of constructing a deal.”
Barcelona do have the option to buy Rashford but don’t want to pay the €30 million buy option in his contract and “want to revisit terms due to a restricted budget.”
“I don’t know. I’m not a magician but if I was I would stay at Barcelona. We will see,” he told reporters. “Football is unpredictable but for now, I will just enjoy it, live in the moment and reassess at the end of the season and see what is possible.”
While Manchester United would prefer a straight sale, the report adds that “another loan deal is a possibility” and adds there are other clubs interested in Rashford. There’s also a suggestion that negotiations won’t be straightforward and could drag on “potentially to late in the window.”
