The Philadelphia Eagles had a disappointing 2025 season, but that has not stopped Dom DiSandro's 15 minutes of fame. Philly's Director of Security, “Big Dom,” is one of the more recognizable faces currently associated with the team. So when ESPN needed someone to voice their PGA Championship hype video, they went to the Eagles and asked for Big Dom.

DiSandro voices the 30-second video highlighting the history of Philadelphia ahead of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. He then relates that to golf. “My town has seen it all, huge moments made possible by men set to determine a new course. Or tame an old one.”
The PGA Championship has never been to Aronimink Golf Club, making its debut at the Donald Ross design this year. The PGA of America moved the tournament from 2027 to 2026 some years back to line it up with the 250th anniversary of independence. This is the first time pro golfers have taken on Aronimink since 2018 and the first major championship in Philly since the 2013 US Open at Merion.
DiSandro became an overnight star when he was ejected from a 2023 game for an altercation with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Eagles fans clutched onto the Italian-American security officer as a star, and that star has only gotten brighter since.

Last year, Scottie Scheffler won the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in North Carolina. Since then, he has also won the Open Championship, putting him one US Open win away from the Career Grand Slam. That fact, along with a bevy of other storylines, has Scheffler on the back burner heading into Thursday's action.
Rory McIlroy is the most recent major champion, having won the Masters for the second straight year in April. He won the PGA Championship back in 2014 at Valhalla, but has not won this major since. There are only 11 men in history with seven major championships. McIlroy can become the 12th, just days after his Devil Wears Prada 2 cameo was released.
Throughout the week, ESPN and CBS will undoubtedly work in more Eagles ties. With the 76ers and Flyers swept out of the second round of their respective playoffs, the Eagles are the only team to lean on at this point. The PGA Championship is in Philadelphia, so Big Dom DiSandro may be sticking around for more videos throughout the week.
