An intro video for the PGA Championship featured scenic views of Philadelphia, including the Liberty Bell, a Benjamin Franklin statue and other tourist attractions. The voice behind the atmospheric video? Philadelphia Eagles' senior advisor to the general manager, "Big Dom" DiSandro.
Just over 20 miles from that same Liberty Bell is where the PGA Championship is taking place this weekend, at Aronimink Golf Course. It marks the first time in 64 years that the PGA Championship is headed back to his historic course. ESPN did not want to miss out on an opportunity to highlight the location.
With Gary Player winning the last men's major at Aronimink, this weekend's golfers have major shoes to fill. With the world's best in attendance, DiSandro's voice provided an introduction into the festivities and competition of the weekend.

'Big Dom' narrates ESPN's PGA Championship opening
This year's PGA Championship is taking place in the suburban town of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, on the outskirts of Philadelphia. As part of the event's production, ESPN chose to bring in a staple of Philadelphia sports, "Big Dom" DiSandro.
The video was meant to build excitement for the major event and detail part of the city's history.
"We the people are united by love of country, city, and this week, the PGA Championship," DiSandro said.

DiSandro is truly a staple of Philadelphia. He began working for the Eagles in 1999, and is set to enter his 28th season as a member of the team. DiSandro was also born in South Philadelphia and went to George Washington High School on the city's Northeast side.
Big Dom was recruited to Penn State as an offensive lineman, but never played, instead returning home right after college to join the Eagles, then as the assistant to the Chief Security Officer.
DiSandro's longtime ties to the city's people, culture and atmosphere made him an ideal choice for ESPN. The PGA Championship may be in the suburbs, but DiSandro's voice on the broadcast is still sure to spread some brotherly love.
