The Seahawks will officially learn the schedule for their title defense season when the NFL announces the entire league’s 2026 slate at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
But every year, games leak before the NFL’s announcement. It was reported Wednesday that the Seahawks’ season opener, set for Wednesday, Sept. 9 at Lumen Field, will be a Super Bowl rematch against the New England Patriots.
And we already know the other teams the Seahawks are playing this season.
The home opponents are: The Cardinals, Rams, 49ers, Cowboys, New York Giants, Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers and Bears, in addition to the Patriots.
And the Seahawks’ road opponents are: The Cardinals, Rams, 49ers, Broncos, Raiders, Eagles, Commanders and Panthers.
While the Seahawks will undoubtedly be in line for several nationally televised games throughout the upcoming season, they will not be playing in any of the league’s nine international games.
Regardless, we’ll soon find out when all 17 games of the 2026 season will be played.
Keep track of the schedule leaks all day here leading up to the official announcement.
We’ll be updating this page throughout the day. Check back for the latest updates.

Report: Seahawks will host Rams on Christmas
There was also a report later Wednesday from Dave “Softy” Mahler of SportsRadio 93.3 KJR that the Seahawks will host the Los Angeles Rams on Christmas at Lumen Field, which will be a Friday.
The NFL has three games slotted for that day, the first two on Netflix and the night game on Fox. That would obviously be a rematch of the NFC title game as well as two memorable regular-season games last year.

It appears we know the answer to one of the biggest questions about the Seahawks’ 2026 schedule — who they will play to open the season on Sept. 9 at Lumen Field as they begin defense of their Super Bowl title.

NFL reporter Jordan Schultz leaked Wednesday afternoon that the Patriots will come to Lumen Field for the first game of the NFL season, as well as the first time the Seahawks have ever played on a Wednesday.
