Breiden Fehoko Believes Browns Are In ‘Better Position’ At QB Than Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a revolving door at quarterback since Ben Roethlisberger retired. They’ve taken a swing on a young guy in Kenny Pickett, and after that didn’t pan out, they started turning to veterans. Now, they’re waiting for a decision from Aaron Rodgers for the second offseason in a row. While they have two young signal callers in Drew Allar and Will Howard, former Steelers defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko likes the Cleveland Browns’ current quarterback room more than Pittsburgh’s.

“When I look at Pittsburgh, and even with the Aaron Rodgers situation, I look at a team that, one, they’ve neglected the quarterback position over the last few years,” Fehoko said recently on the Honor the Land podcast. “They’ve used it as a patch position. I don’t feel like Pittsburgh has valued the quarterback position as much as they should have, as much as other teams.

“And when I look at the Browns, everybody loves to trash the Browns online. I see it, everybody sees it. The Browns are in a better position quarterback-wise, and people may not agree with me, than the Pittsburgh Steelers.”

The Browns’ quarterback room consists of Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and sixth-round rookie Taylen Green. Compare that to the Steelers, who have Allar, Howard, and Mason Rudolph, and neither team looks to be in a great spot under center.

However, if the Steelers sign Rodgers, then there’s a good argument that they’re better off at quarterback, at least for this season. Watson’s last good season came more than five years ago, and he’s coming off a major injury that forced him to miss the entire 2025 season. While Sanders made the Pro Bowl last year, he still wasn’t too impressive, throwing more interceptions (10) than touchdown passes (seven).

Neither Gabriel nor Green projects to be impactful players this year, either. Yes, Rodgers isn’t the same player he once was, but he was still serviceable last year, throwing for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Also, he still flashed some of the arm talent that’s made him special.

Now, if you weigh each team’s future at quarterback, you could argue that the Browns are in a better spot. They look like they’re going to be bad in 2026, while the Steelers could be mediocre again. The 2027 quarterback draft class is supposed to be loaded, and Cleveland could be better positioned to get a top prospect than Pittsburgh.

However, that hasn’t helped the Browns for the last two decades. They’ve routinely been among the NFL’s worst teams. Still, they’ve been unable to draft and develop a long-term starting quarterback.

Next year’s draft is still far away, too. There’s no telling if the projected QB class will live up to the hype. For now, neither the Browns nor the Steelers have an answer under center. However, one of those teams has shown it can win despite that, and the other is Cleveland.
