“Let Them Cook Him”: Fans Roast Mike Vrabel as League Green-Lights Savage Schedule Release Jokes

Mike Vrabel is facing significant negative attention right now. The New England Patriots head coach had a good 2025 season, taking the franchise to the Super Bowl after seven years. Though they lost the game to the Seattle Seahawks 29-13, it was still a strong season for them.

Vrabel recently became embroiled in a scandal, when photos of him together with former NFL reporter Dianna Russini became public. The NFL has now made an important announcement regarding the scandal.

The NFL has decided it will not review or censor team-produced schedule release videos for jokes involving Vrabel. The annual schedule release is primarily for the league releasing the schedule for the season, but has now taken a more interesting turn in recent years.

On the same day, it is an opportunity for all 32 teams to release creative and humorous short videos to announce their upcoming season schedule.

According to Front Office Sports, the league is giving teams discretion over content related to Vrabel’s ongoing personal controversy involving Russini. He has been facing much scrutiny after multiple photos have been leaked with the former reporter.

A source has told the outlet, “This is the day when teams are licensed to poke fun at each other. The (Vrabel story) has become such a public matter that teams can take the shot. You may get a call from the Patriots. But the league is not going to get involved.”

The source added, “The only time Park Avenue messages the teams is around labor, CBA, or the refs. The moments when they’re trying to negotiate—and they want everyone on message. If the Jets, Bills, or Chargers choose to ridicule Vrabel, that’s an issue between the teams. The league doesn’t need to mediate that.”

Many fans are excited as they expect digs aimed at Vrabel by the other teams.

One user said, “Chargers social media team about to get so busy 🤣”.

A second user remarked, “I will be so disappointed if everyone just avoids it. The Chargers Social Media team better deliver something big. This is literally the closest thing they will ever have to a Super Bowl, they gotta go big”.

A third user replied, “Other team accounts right now”.

Another added, “Good as they shouldn’t! Vrabel needs to know all season+ he’s a clown”.

A fifth user commented, “Let Them Cook Him”.

Fans will be waiting to see which teams will be attacking Mike Vrabel in their creative annual schedule release videos.
