The speculation exploded after Diggs revealed he has spoken with Washington and hinted that a hometown return appeals to him. The former New England Patriots receiver, who became a free agent after being released on March 11, 2026, admitted the fit feels natural because of his roots in Maryland and his ties to the area through the University of Maryland.
