May 14 – Premier League club Chelsea have announced a new strategic partnership with Roc Nation Sports International, in a deal designed to expand the club’s cultural footprint and fan base across the United States.

The entertainment company founded by Jay-Z in 2008, will work alongside Chelsea to grow the club’s reach in America through what the parties describe as “music, fashion, entertainment, creators, and athlete storytelling.

Chelsea brand director Scott Fenton said: “This partnership represents a major step forward in how we connect with our fans in the US. By leaning into culture, music, and creativity we are building deeper, more authentic relationships with a new generation of supporters who see football as a lifestyle.”

Club sources indicate that the agreement is rooted in the understanding that fans enter football through multiple cultural doorways. The aim is to drive both short-term engagement and long-term fan acquisition.

Roc Nation Sports International president Michael Yormark said: “Football has never been more culturally influential in the US. Our ambition is to help Chelsea show up in the moments, platforms, and conversations that truly matter to the modern fan.”

The club has also signalled it wants to engage fans well beyond the 90-minute matchday window, pointing to recent campaigns with WWE talent and a limited-edition clothing collaboration with Drake’s OVO brand as the kind of cultural crossover the partnership is designed to scale.
