Marcus Rashford gets new date for Man Utd transfer talks as Barcelona deadline set

Manchester United are poised to resume talks with Barcelona over Marcus Rashford, with the Spanish giants eager to arrange another loan deal. While the winger has caught the eye during his stint at the Camp Nou, club officials and fans remain split over committing to a permanent transfer. Rashford, 28, joined Barca on loan from United last summer and has delivered 14 goals and 14 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.

Last Sunday, the England international curled in a sublime free‐kick to help Barca beat Real Madrid 2‐0 and clinch the La Liga title. He played 64 minutes before making way for Raphinha. Speaking after the match, Rashford expressed his desire to prolong his time at the club, though he conceded uncertainty over what the summer holds. "I'm not a magician, but if I was, I would stay [at Barcelona]," he said. "We will see. I came here to win.

"This is a wonderful team, they're going to win so much in the future; to be a part of that would be special." Barcelona have delayed activating the permanent clause in Rashford's loan agreement and, according to The Independent, are poised to renegotiate the terms owing to their tight financial constraints. Discussions are anticipated to resume next week as they seek to structure a deal, with a further loan described as a 'possibility.'

Barca are actively searching for a new left winger and have identified several targets alongside Rashford, with club director Deco and manager Flick reportedly not entirely persuaded by the England international and weighing up their alternatives. The Barca boss has nonetheless highlighted Rashford's contribution throughout the campaign,

He said: "As for me, I appreciate Rashford that very much. I think his season was fantastic. He has good numbers, and I am very grateful that and appreciate it greatly. At the end of the season, we will analyse everything, and then we will see what will happen."

Given Rashford's impressive stint in Spain, that fee would arguably represent exceptional value. And should the La Liga champions fail to conclude a deal, the 28‐year‐old is likely to attract interest from elsewhere.

The World Cup could yet prove advantageous for United should Rashford be afforded the opportunity to shine on the world stage. He has been a consistent presence in England squads under Thomas Tuchel. It's understood that United would be confident of commanding a fee in the region of £50m for the academy product.
