Expectations and excitement are sky high around the Las Vegas Raiders after their 2026 offseason and a lot of revolves around new head coach Klint Kubiak.
He’s a proven offensive guru and it is coming to a franchise that badly needs an influx of coaching juice on that side of the ball.
To further fuel the excitememt, let’s look at a recent X account post by NFL researcher. The site listed the best and worst yardage rates by offensives on first down in 2025.
The eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, where Kubiak was the offensive coordinator, were tied for the league lead at 6.4 yards per play on first down. Meanwhile, the Raiders were tied for the third worst rate in the league at 4.7 yards.
If the Raiders can up their yardage rate by a yard in 2026 that will be a huge improvement and a sign of big progress under Kubiak.

Why does the last place worst team in the league in 2025, get the 7th toughest strength of schedule the following year? Some of it our division is brutal, but do we ever catch a break with road teams?
