Per the NFL’s official transaction write, former Cal-Poly receiver Michael Briscoe was waived for a “failure to disclose physical condition.” It also sounds like he had a rough rookie minicamp, which might have made Seattle’s decision that much easier to make.
There’s an ambiguity to “failure to disclose physical condition” that has some financial implications. As Seahawksdraftblog.com columnist and cap specialist Curtis Allen notes, it’s possible that the guaranteed money Briscoe received could be void.
We’re dealing with far less money regarding Briscoe, but it’s nevertheless something to keep an eye on if this turns into something larger.
