The scandal surrounding New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and former Athletic insider Dianna Russini shows no signs of ending anytime soon.
Last month, photos of Vrabel and Russini, who are both married to different people, surfaced at an adult-only resort in Sedona, Arizona. Following that, more images have since surfaced, including ones from 2020 of the pair kissing in a New York City bar.
This week saw the 2026 NFL schedule released, with it questionable whether any of the 31 teams, the Patriots excluded, would refer to the scandal in their schedule release videos. That question was emphatically answered by the Los Angeles Chargers and their social media team, who dropped multiple references to Vrabel and Russini in their schedule release video.

Vrabel 'castrated' over Russini scandal
NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin has leaped to the defense of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, with the former Dallas Cowboys star claiming the New England Patriots head coach and former Athletic insider have been 'castrated and killed'.
The drama surrounding the pair has been the talk of the NFL offseason. Russini was recently pictured with husband Kevin Goldschmidt on Mother's Day, with them sharing a kiss just weeks after the initial pictures of her and Vrabel emerged at the adult-only resort in Sedona, Arizona.

While more photos have emerged since, the pair were recently defended by Irvin, who believes the scandal's coverage has been cruel.
Speaking to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, the three-time Super Bowl winner said, "We all want to jump in personal lives.
"Dude, if I just get a peek at your history, I'm sure it'll tell me something. We all forget that we have done s—t when we're talking about somebody else, and then we want to castrate and kill them."
Mike Vrabel could pay price
New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel could end up paying a large sum to prevent Dianna Russini from giving a tell-all interview.
Since the initial release of the photos of Russini and Vrabel together at an adult-only resort in Sedona, Arizona, ahead of the NFL's annual league meetings, more and more images of the pair together over the course of the last six years have dropped.
Reports have suggested Russini is considering a tell-all interview about the alleged affair with the Patriots head coach, with a source telling the Daily Mail the former Athletic insider is ready to tell her side of the story.

Good Morning America and 60 Minutes are both reportedly interested in giving Russini a platform for the interview,
But, it has also been mooted that Vrabel and the Patriots may opt to pursue a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Russini, which establishes a confidential relationship between the parties to prevent information from becoming public.
Recently, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio suggested in a column that a settlement agreement to prevent Russini's tell-all interview would not be unprecedented. However, in that case, attorney Mike McCann has said that it would likely end with Vrabel having to pay for the NDA, and not the Patriots.

Speaking on WEEI, McCann said, "That would be a non-disclosure agreement; it can be enforceable. She is an adult. If she signs some sort of agreement saying that I will not disclose other materials about you, whatever they did, that’s a contract.
He added, "Why are the Patriots paying for it? Why wouldn’t it be Vrabel? He is the one who’s at the issue."
"I don’t know if it’s also a good idea, I mean, in a way some of these disclosures aren’t even from them. How about that photo from six years ago at a bar, you can’t buy silence of the world. So there’s other people that have stuff that wouldn’t be covered by the agreement."
