The Huskies were a respectable 9-4 last season, taking a step forward in Jedd Fisch's second season in Seattle.

There was a lot of offseason drama surrounding the star quarterback, Demond Williams, and the hope is that the situation can blow over, as he is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the Big Ten with his playmaking ability.

The Huskies do have questions at running back, considering they were banged up this spring, and will rely on Oregon transfer Jayden Limar and one of its returners, Jordan Washington, to pace the room.

Dezmen Roebuck is back at receiver after a solid 2025 campaign, while Kennesaw State transfer Christian Moss was a big coup for the Huskies at that spot, too. The offensive line should be solid, too.

The defense returns four starters, but added a few key portal pieces.

The defensive line is one of the primary strengths for this Washington team, returning edge rusher Jacob Lane, then also adding a few big names via the portal. The secondary and linebacker unit also bring back solid pieces with experience and production. Xe'ree Alexander could emerge as one of the best linebackers in the Big Ten for the Huskies.

Washington's offense should be capable, especially with Williams leading the charge, and Husky Stadium is not an easy place to play. Williams will likely be the most dynamic quarterback that Iowa faces this season, and we know the Hawkeyes have had their hands full in the pass with those types of dual-threat quarterbacks.
