Dolphins, Jets share ugly NFL schedule 'honor' that heavily contrasts Bills, Patriots

There's a bit of amusing good news for fans of the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets that emerged from the NFL's schedule release on Thursday.

Those fanbases will get quality sleep during the 2026 NFL season.

Well, maybe there'll be nightmares about how these AFC East rivals are performing.

But as far as the schedule itself? It's set up for sleeping standard hours.

The Dolphins and Jets are two of five teams in the NFL that didn't get a single primetime game in this season's schedule.

They're joined on the list by two other AFC teams: the Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans. It's a bit surprising that the league didn't give Fernando Mendoza or Cam Ward a chance on a stage like that, but it makes sense from a market perspective.

Just one NFC team is without a primetime game: the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cardinals are probably the most logical team out of this quintet. They're not a key NFL market and have a nightmare QB situation.

The Jets being left out serves as a bit of a surprise just given their market. But they're also coming off a miserable season and are counting on Geno Smith to be their starting quarterback this season, so maybe it's fair.

The Dolphins have a new coaching staff and a new QB, Malik Willis. There's just a lot of unknown with a Miami team that could be in for a tough year.

These two AFC East foes certainly contrast with the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, who are all over the primetime schedule.

But hey, at least Dolphins and Jets fans will get the chance to get go to bed on time.
