NFL leans into Hollywood stars with record number of Rams’ primetime games

The National Football League is placing a major spotlight on the Los Angeles Rams entering the 2026 season after awarding the franchise a record-tying seven primetime games in Thursday’s official schedule release.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter highlighted the historic scheduling mark on social media shortly after the NFL unveiled the full slate.

“The Rams’ seven prime-time games this season tie the 2023 Bills and the 2025 Chiefs for the most in a season in NFL history.”

Los Angeles is scheduled to appear across multiple national broadcast windows throughout the season, including games on Netflix, ESPN, NBC, Prime Video and FOX.

The Rams will open the season Sept. 10 at home against the San Francisco 49ers on Netflix before hosting the New York Giants in Week 2 on Monday Night Football. Other featured matchups include road games against the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, along with marquee home contests versus the Buffalo Bills, Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs.

The league’s scheduling emphasis reflects growing expectations surrounding Los Angeles after consecutive deep postseason runs. The Rams reached the NFC Championship Game last season before falling 31-27 to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seahawks. The year prior, Los Angeles lost 28-22 to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round.

With quarterback Matthew Stafford still leading the offense and stars such as Puka Nacua continuing to elevate the team’s profile, the Rams remain one of the NFL’s premier television draws.

The schedule also reinforces the league’s continued investment in Los Angeles as a major entertainment market. With several standalone national windows and holiday matchups, the Rams are positioned to become one of the NFL’s most visible franchises throughout the 2026 campaign.
