Raiders fans would welcome back some free agents

We asked our community members this week which remaining in-house free agents would they like to see the Las Vegas Raiders bring back. Here is a list of their current free agents.

Here are some of your responses:

Three guys I could see having a role, if the money matches up.

1. Elandon Roberts, ILB

Roberts graded out very well vs the run last year (76.7 PFF, good for 21st of 88 qualifying LB) but was awful in pass coverage (36.4 PFF)... and we knew that was the knock when signing him to an every-down role - many of us predicted the issues in coverage. Missed tackles were an issue, with many of them coming in coverage, per reporting on the subject.

As a depth ILB in a 3-4, especially one used in key run situations... he can be a particularly useful package player.

The price tag is presumably a fair bit higher than an end-of-roster guy... but Roberts could function in the right system, even with the coverage limitations. If the price tag comes down, there's probably a spot for a high character grinder.

2. Jamal Adams, OLB

Adams' missed tackles (12) last year were well documented. But his PFF #s on both pass rushing (71.4, good for 20th) from the linebacker spot and in coverage (69.2), grading him out as the 33rd LB out of 88 last year (63.7 overall PFF). He played limited snaps. But, again, price tag adjusted for cost... he could provide quality production.

3. Daniel Carlson, K

Carlson is still unsigned. His numbers declined, yes, and his clutch-factor came into question the last year or so. But he was also paid top-10 kicker money every season on his previous contract (4yr 18.4M), and a re-up could have put him into the top-5... with AJ Cole already the highest paid punter... Carlson not being resigned in FA was likely a cost-cutting move to more closely match production and dollars.

But if his price tag comes down? Carlson's relative calue increases.

It'd be difficult for anyone to argue Matt Gay is a better Kicker than Carlson. The argument would clearly be a question of "value." Gay providing "similar" production for less ($1.6M this year, whereas Carlson was earning $4M+ APY). If Carlson's contract figure comes down... could easily see a world where he's on the roster in 2026.

Caveat with all these guys is "value" and fit.

Roberts and Adams played on 3M and 1.255M contracts last season. Both are vets and I think you know what you've got in either of them at this point... and either or both could be brought in during camp after you get a quality look at some of the other LB options on the 90-man roster, if those younger guys aren't looking up to par... so, in my mind, there's genuinely no rush to snap up either of them before camp gets rolling.

If i have to, I would pick Jamal Adams and Alex kappa. They would be great for depth. Kappa made a difference on that terrible oline when he switched to center. Having him as the 3rd C would be nice. Adams would be a nice backup/mentor role for that young safety room. Don't think he is up for it didn't seemed to happy about his role last year.
