Sunderland's Premier League away record compared ahead of Everton visit

Sunderland will visit Everton for their final away game of the Premier League season on Sunday afternoon.

Sunderland will round off their away games for a memorable return to the Premier League when they visit Everton on Sunday afternoon.

The Black Cats have already experienced walking out at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season after goalkeeper Robin Roefs produced a sparkling display to help Regis Le Bris’ side come out on the right side of a penalty shoot-out in an FA Cup third round tie against the Toffees in January. However, Sunday’s trip to the blue half of Merseyside will provide Sunderland with their first Premier League fixture at their hosts’ new home.

The Black Cats’ form on their own home patch has been mixed in recent months - although it did provide strong foundations for a solid return to the top flight during the first half of the season as Le Bris’ men embarked on a 12-game unbeaten run at the Stadium of Light. Since suffering their first defeat on Wearside when Liverpool claimed a narrow win in February, Fulham, Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest have also collected maximum points from a trip to SR5.

Sunderland’s away form has hampered their attempts to make a genuine push for European competition and they travel to Everton looking to rack up on a third win in their last 13 away league games. There have been some impressive results on the road such as the win at Chelsea and the history-making victory at Newcastle United - but how does the Black Cats overall away record compare to their rivals across the Premier League?
