According to noted pundit and former Bayern Munich and German national team star Lothar Matthäus, the German Rekordmeister might be contemplating a pursuit of Manchester City’s Joško Gvardiol.
“I have a player in mind and I’ve heard that they [Bayern Munich] are already making initial inquiries. A former Bundesliga player from Leipzig, currently playing for Manchester City, left-back, center-back — Gvardiol,” Matthäus said during an appearance on Sky Sport (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Gvardiol has been linked to Bayern Munich in the past and the Bavarians were rumored to be one of the finalists to land the Croatian defender before he ultimately decided to make the move to Manchester City back in 2023.
Gvardiol could be the exact kind of stabilizing force to compliment Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah on Bayern Munch’s backline.
