Pep Guardiola said that Manchester City will celebrate the success of the men's team and women's team with a parade on Monday 25 May. On the same day that Guardiola's side lifted the FA Cup at Wembley, Andree Jeglertz and his players celebrated being WSL champions for the first time in a decade.

City Women still have an FA Cup final to prepare for at the end of that week but will be part of an open-top bus parade after the final Premier League game with a route starting in the Northern Quarter and travelling through Ancoats before finishing at the Etihad. There will then be a party at Co-Op Live with the players, with tickets for that event costing £12.

That will be the first time that Guardiola's side will be allowed to celebrate beating Chelsea on Saturday in the FA Cup final. The manager said that they will travel straight home without even being allowed a drink as they prioritise recovery ahead of their Premier League game with Bournemouth.

After a recovery session on Sunday, the Blues will head down to the south coast on Monday as they look to keep their hopes of another title alive. Arsenal can stretch their lead at the top of the table to five points if they beat Burnley on Monday night before City are the visitors for Andoni Iraola's last home game as Bournemouth manager.

The Blues are looking to take the title race into the final day to put Arsenal under as much pressure as they can, meaning they will give everything they have got over the next nine days even if it means delaying the start of their celebrations for a season that has already been a success.

"Not even one beer," said Guardiola. "Next Monday after Aston Villa, we're going to celebrate it with the women's team, the club said that to me [with] some parade in Manchester because we must celebrate with both teams. No, no, no - not have time [to celebrate].

"Chelsea had seven days to prepare for the final, we had three days and yesterday was a nightmare. We spent literally six hours from city to here. The trains are a little bit problem in this country. Six hours! We behaved good in some moments but the margins in the final can change games.
