Getting into with some folks in this community and curious what the general consensus is.. if you had the opportunity to swap Nick Sirianni for Sean McVay 1:1 right now, would you do it? To me the answer is yes and it’s a no brainer. Sean McVay is one of the best offensive minds in the sport and pairing him with Vic Fangio and our roster would be deadly for the rest of the league. People are arguing that Sirianni is more accomplished (which technically he isn’t) and has a better winning %, but that’s a narrow minded way to look at it imo.
Over the last 4-5 years, Howie has made the Eagles HC job the easiest job in the NFL (maybe NFL history). Nailing pretty much every day 1-2 pick in the draft, hand selecting Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore, trading for AJ Brown, manipulating the cap so that we can afford to be ultra aggressive in keeping talent and bringing in new talent via FA. No GM/owner combo can even sniff what we are doing.
And that leads me to my original question.. what exactly does Nick Sirianni provide in value? Did the team look tough, detailed, and together in 23 and 25 when we didn’t have all star coordinators that Howie picked? Did Nick have any answers the many times the offense has sputtered during the season? Has he done anything to develop Jalen Hurts to the next level? Has he prevented locker room drama from spilling out into the media? What does he do? How is he a better head coach than Sean McVay?
