Moyes hails outgoing Everton coach stalwart

**Everton masseur Jimmy Comer is set to leave at the end of this season.**

Comer has been a popular figure in the backroom staff for the best part of three decades, working with ten permanent managers during that time.

First enlisted at the start of Walter Smith’s tenure, the 55-year-old remained a longstanding fixture of the Blues’ coaching ranks despite a high turnover.

But it has been confirmed that Comer, the father of Hollywood actor Jodie Comer, will depart his role after next weekend’s season finale at Tottenham.

Writing in the matchday programme for Sunday’s final home game against Sunderland, Moyes paid a glowing tribute to his outgoing colleague.

“Jimmy has been a huge part of the football club and one of the big characters you need behind the scenes at a club like Everton,” he wrote.

“We’ll miss him greatly but I’m sure he won’t be too far away with him being such a big Evertonian.”
