Kaboly Makes His Steelers Record Prediction

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2026 schedule is set. The Steelers start the year at home, kicking off the season at Acrisure Stadium by hosting the Atlanta Falcons.

Our very own Alex Kozora took a look at some of the idiosyncrasies of the Steelers’ schedule, which features some interesting nuggets. However, what everyone wants to know is this: How many games do the Steelers win?

Beat writer Mark Kaboly attempted to answer that question during his weekly Friday appearance on 93.7 The Fan’s PM Team. Co-host Andrew Fillipponi asked Kaboly for his outcome of each game. At the end of it all, Kaboly has the Steelers going 11-6 on the season.

That would be the Steelers’ best record since they went 12-4 in the 2020 season. Would it be enough to win the AFC North two years in a row? Well, maybe not. Kaboly wasn’t as ecstatic about the Steelers’ results against their divisional opponents as he was overall.

Kaboly did predict the Steelers would sweep the Cleveland Browns. One of those interesting scheduling quirks is that the Steelers and the Browns play their two regular-season matchups within the first eight weeks of the season.

Things are less rosy in Kaboly’s predictions for the two games versus the Cincinnati Bengals. He has them splitting the season series with the Steelers winning at home in Week 3 and losing in Week 10 at the Bengals on Sunday Night Football.

A 3-1 mark isn’t bad in division, of course. However, that leaves the two matchups against the Baltimore Ravens. The NFL obviously enjoyed the late-season matchups between the Steelers and Ravens last year, with the AFC North title coming down to the final game of the regular season. The Steelers host the Ravens in Week 15, while the final matchup is in Baltimore in Week 18. Could the division come down to that final game?

Steelers fans better hope not, if Kaboly’s predictions come true.

“I think they get swept by the Ravens,” Kaboly said.

Not music to Steelers fans’ ears. However, you have to believe that 11-6 will secure a playoff spot. So perhaps new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy can find a way to make some noise in the playoffs, AFC North title or not.
