Bucky Irving has quickly become a franchise cornerstone in Tampa Bay.
After just two seasons in the NFL, the young running back is a household name across the league. Whether it's [Buccaneers](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/tampa-bay-buccaneers)' fans or fantasy managers, Irving has posted some heroic performances.
But after his sophomore season was plagued with injuries, there are concerns about his status for the upcoming season. Those fears may be quelled with a new update.
Bucky Irving gets promising update on shoulder injury
-----------------------------------------------------
Bucky Irving is expected to be healthy in time for Bucs' training camp.
Rick Stroud, a reporter for _Tampa Bay Times_, published an article titled "[Bucs may be running back by committee, but Bucky Irving is still chairman](https://x.com/NFLSTROUD/status/2056038490131890461?s=20)."
In the piece, Stroud reports that Bucs' GM, Jason Licht, says Irving will be ready for training camp. This comes after a season where Irving missed seven games because of shoulder and knee injuries.
Tampa Bay signed free agent RB Kenneth Gainwell in the offseason. Gainwell is coming off an excellent season as a pass-catching back in Pittsburgh. He should replace production from Rachaad White, who signed with Washington.
The Bucs also have Sean Tucker, who has shined as a part of a committee backfield and in Irving's absence.
Stroud details in his piece how both Tucker and Gainwell will command roles in the offense but Irving's health update sets him up to be the go-to option out of the backfield.
Irving rushed for 1,122 yards and 8 TD's in his rookie season. Injuries crippled his stats in year two, as he posted just 588 yards and 1 TD.
Tampa Bay, Irving, and his fantasy managers will hope this update is a good omen of things to come. If Bucky is back to full health there's no telling how great he could be.
