Cowboys’ Donovan Ezeiruaku shows rapid progress from offseason surgery in workout video

The Dallas Cowboys are currently gearing up for the 2026 NFL season, with their schedule having been released last week. The Cowboys are looking to bounce back after a tough 2026 season that saw them miss the playoffs altogether for the second straight year.

The brunt of the Cowboys' problems came on the defensive side of the ball last year, where they were among the worst units in the NFL. One of the few bright spots for the Cowboys on defense was the play of then-rookie defensive end Donovan Ezeriuaka, who had a solid first season in the NFL after being selected out of Boston College.

This offseason, Ezeiruaku underwent surgery to fix an issue with his hip, but if his latest workout is any indication, the former second-round pick is on the comeback trail heading into next year.

Ezeiruaku is one of the many players that the Cowboys are hoping will take a step forward heading into next season. While Dallas did make strides during the year last season to help revamp their defense, including trading for Quinnen Williams of the New York Jets, it still wasn't nearly enough to make up for the loss of Micah Parsons, who was dealt to the Green Bay Packers prior to the season in a shocking move.

The Cowboys will also be banking on some solid production from this year's rookie class, which is headlined by defensive back Caleb Downs out of Ohio State, along with several other defensive players.

In any case, the Cowboys will hope that Ezeiruaku is fully healthy by the time next season gets underway in September.
