Everton are showing an interest in signing a Sunderland star who started against them at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It's been an inconsistent season for the Toffees, who look like they could qualify for Europe at one point in the campaign. Everton appear to have thrown it away, failing to win in their last six games.
As a result, it could be a busy summer transfer window for David Moyes' side as they look to build a squad capable of pushing for the top half.
Everton have conceded two or more goals in their last six matches, so it's clear to see that there are defensive issues at the club.
The Merseyside outfit have needed a new right-back for many years now, and it could be time for them to finally invest in one.

David Moyes
According to a report from journalist Alan Nixon, Everton are interested in signing Sunderland right back Lutsharel Geertruida, and they are lining up a £20m move.
Moyes is looking to bring in a new right back in the summer transfer window, and his scouts have been regularly watching the Sunderland man this season.
Geertruida, described as 'extraordinary', is set to return to Red Bull Leipzig in the summer after Sunderland opted not to sign him on a permanent basis.
Leipzig are looking to bring in over £20 million for the right back, and Everton could make a move at that fee or at least close to it.
Right-Back Has to be a Priority

Bringing in a new right-back has to be a major priority for Everton heading into the summer transfer window.
Jake O'Brien has been the main starter in this position under David Moyes, but he's naturally a centre-back and he has struggled at times this season.
The Toffees need a natural full-back, someone who is capable of getting up and down, providing a threat in the final third, as well as being defensively sound.
It's been a few years now since Everton have needed a new right-back, but they've continuously failed to address the position.
Whether Geertruida is the answer remains to be seen, but the Toffees need to strengthen when the market opens.
