De’Von Achane Injury Scare Looms Large As Dolphins Coaching Personnel Let’s Slip Health Status

The Miami Dolphins have successfully extended De’Von Achane’s contract for four-years. This new contract will make him earn$64 million, averaging $16 million per-year. Dolphins highly depend on Achane this season as they have parted ways with head coach Mike McDaniel, Tua Tagovailoa, and Tyreek Hill.

But things have taken a turn when their new pass game coordinator revealed Achane might not be fully fit at this moment.

Dolphins’ Pass Game Coordinator Hints at De’Von Achane’s Possible Injury

The Miami Dolphins will be entering the 2026-27 season without much hope as they had to let go several of their star players. The massive four-year old contract extension suggests that they really count on Achane to at least have a dependable offense this season.

De’Von Achane previously was rumored to be linked with several teams that wanted to sign him. It was rumored that teams like the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Chargers, and Denver Broncos were chasing Achane to get him into their squad. But ultimately Achane decided to stay with the Dolphins being the focal point of their offense.

But an interesting thing came up from the statement of their offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo at the Dolphins’ rookie minicamp. While praising Achane’s quality and versatility, Patullo mentioned he is excited to see Achane once he is “healthy and ready to roll”.

“What a dynamic player he is,”Patullo said while talking about Achane. “He lined up as a receiver, a true running back. He’s so dynamic. So it’s gonna be really exciting to get him out there once he’s healthy and ready to roll.”

NFL personality Dov Kleiman known as an NFL aggregator clipped that part of the video and posted it on his X account which has gone viral. This came as quite a shock to everyone as there were no news or announcements on Achane’s injury until Kevin Patullo hinted at the Dolphins’ rookie minicamp.

Clearly the Dolphins’ offense centers around Achane this season. So, it will be interesting to see what the Dolphins’ strategy will be if indeed Achane’s injury rumor turns out to be true.

A Nightmare Start to The Dolphins Rebuild?

The Dolphins are now going through a transitional phase having to let go head coach Mike McDaniel, Tua Tagovailoa, and Tyreek Hill. This season is more like a rebuilding season for them, and they probably won’t expect very much under their newly hired head coach.

The Miami Dolphins have parted their ways with their head coach and signed Jeff Hafley with a five-year contract. Under new coach the Dolphins are planning quite a buildover by leaving old players and welcoming new faces. The new head coach might have had big plans for Achane as the Dolphins pushed the $64 million contract to secure him in Hafley’s squad.

The Miami Dolphins had a disappointing season resulting in parting ways with their former head coach. But Achane had a good season starting in all 16 games with8 rushing touchdowns, 238 carries, and 1,350 rushing yards.

Despite big changes, the Dolphins’ must be depending on De’Von Achane a lot to push the four-year contract for him. So, his potential injury could be another heavy blow for the Dolphins if it turns out to be indeed the case.
