With a deal for Julian Alvarez becoming increasingly unlikely, Barcelona seem to have turned their attention to Chelsea forward Joao Pedro.
Barcelona fans were not too impressed with Pedro’s performance in the FA Cup final over the weekend.
However, the 24-year-old has still been one of the best strikers in Europe this season, hence the Catalan club’s interest in him.

Joao Pedro informs agents he wants Barcelona move
It may not be too difficult for Barcelona to get Pedro to agree to a move to the Camp Nou this summer.
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that Pedro has told his agents that he is keen to join the La Liga outfit, though that could change following the arrival of Xabi Alonso.
The Brazilian is not thought to be unhappy at Chelsea, but the chance to play for Barcelona as a South American appears to be alluring.
Alonso’s plan is to keep hold of Pedro and take a close look at him and the Blues’ other players before making any decisions.
However, according to Phillips, Barcelona could make an offer for the Brazil international before the World Cup.
Chelsea’s stance on Joao Pedro
While Barcelona may be able to tempt Pedro into an agreement, it is still unlikely that he will be going anywhere in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea’s current stance is that Pedro is not for sale, and even if he were, you would have to question whether Barcelona would have the funds to land him.
Hansi Flick needs a new striker, though. Robert Lewandowski will be a free agent at the end of the season.

Ultimately, Barcelona will bring someone in before the transfer market shuts. But it is highly unlikely to be Pedro.
Never say never, but Pedro is not unhappy in west London and has a contract until 2033. There is probably nothing for Chelsea to be worried about. Following the appointment of Alonso, it is time to be positive!
