Cameron Jordan is a [New Orleans Saints](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/new-orleans-saints) legend.
Right now, though, the defensive lineman doesn't have a team. He went into free agency at the end of the season, and he has yet to sign a new contract with anyone.
The good news is that it doesn't seem like the Saints are out of the running.
In fact, ESPN's Matt Bowen seems to think New Orleans is exactly where Jordan will wind up playing the 2026 campaign.
"Jordan had 10.5 sacks in 2025, which marked his most in a single season since 2021," [Bowen wrote as part of a new article](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48751416/2026-nfl-best-team-fits-remaining-free-agents-samuel-bosa-diggs) on Monday. "Sure, he can land with a team looking for a 4-3 edge given his physical profile (6-foot-4, 287 pounds) and movement ability. However, we have Jordan returning for his 16th season with the Saints. Coordinator Brandon Staley could still use Jordan's veteran presence in a unit that did not make any big free agent signings or draft picks."
At this point in the free agent process, Jordan really doesn't have to rush, particularly if he feels like he just wants to end up back with the Saints.
He can keep his options open a bit, listen to what other teams might have to say, but know that he's got a stable landing place back in New Orleans.
Jordan is also likely giving some thought to what his post-playing career will look like. Even if it doesn't arrive quite yet, the offseason is a good time to contemplate such things.
There's plenty of reason to believe Jordan will eventually end up in television broadcasting in some realm of the NFL, and there's a chance that even now he's communicating with companies about that, too.
At the end of the day, it'd be weird to see Jordan in a uniform that wasn't the Saints, so if Bowen is on the right track here, it's news that likely makes New Orleans sports fans very happy.
