CHICAGO, Ill., — The Chicago Bears stadium saga continues on and the franchise is really no closer to a solution as we sit here in May. But as the team continues to focus on two potential sites, the Bears stadium situation will be a talking point at this week's NFL owners meetings in Orlando.
The league owners are heading to Orlando for meetings, and per multiple reports, there will be a special briefing on the Bears' stadium situation. This will be a key agenda for the league as the 31 other clubs will be provided an update on the two potential destinations of Arlington Heights and Hammond, Indiana.
Chicago has maintained its stance that those two sites are the only viable ones for a new stadium. That comes despite a push from Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to try and keep the team in the city. However, that doesn't appear as a likely option and hasn't been for a while now. It's going to be key for the Bears to see some movement on the stadium situation very soon.
They own the property in Arlington Heights but have since welcomed a proposal from Hammond, Indiana, as well. With Nashville likely getting a Super Bowl in 2030 with their new stadium project, the rush is on for the Bears to get this done.
