The Saints have a contract offer out to one — but not both — of their free agent stars

It is now mid May and Cameron Jordan, the New Orleans Saints’ all-time sacks leader and potential Hall-of-Famer, remains unsigned.

That does not mean there hasn’t at least been an effort from the team to bring him back.

General manager Loomis said Monday morning that the team has extended a contract offer to Jordan, who is a free agent for the first time in his career after recording 10.5 sacks with the Saints last year — his 15th season with the franchise.

What was left unsaid were the terms of that contract offer.

Jordan made clear throughout the 2025 season that he was not a fan of the reworked contract he played on last year that stripped away guarantees and went heavy on incentives. Jordan hit those incentives to earn back the money, but he frequently said he’d be playing for “services rendered” on his next deal.

Jordan will turn 37 in July. His 2025 season showed he could still put up numbers as a pass rusher, but it also came on the heels of two down seasons when Jordan managed a combined six sacks while navigating injury and a positional dispute.

“Cam means a lot to us; he's meant a lot to this organization for a long time,” said coach Kellen Moore. “Last year, he was a big time leader for our program, and so would obviously love to have (him back).

“You kind of got to let the business part of it take its process and kind of go through that. Obviously we're hopeful and supportive, and we'll see how it all plays out.”

While there is an offer in play for Jordan, Loomis said the same is not true for Taysom Hill, the Saints’ longtime multi-purpose offensive weapon.

Hill has played his entire nine-year career in New Orleans, but is coming off a difficult string of injuries and will turn 36 years old in August.

He suffered a season-ending knee injury in December of 2024 and spent the entire offseason rehabilitating after major surgery. Hill returned to action in Week 5 last season, but did not look like the same player, averaging a career-low 2.2 yards per carry.

Hill’s best game of the season came in what may have been his last game in the Caesars Superdome, when he threw a 38-yard touchdown pass and also tallied 42 yards as a rusher and 36 as a receiver in a 29-6 win against the New York Jets.

He spoke after the game like a player who may be considering retirement after the season, but Hill has not made an official announcement toward that end.
