Depot After Dark: Rodgers To Pittman, Ravens Joint Practices, Former Steelers At UPMC Event

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article, but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for May 18.

RODGERS TO PITTMAN

Aaron Rodgers has finally re-signed with the Steelers. The wait for him ended a little earlier than last year, with Rodgers not signing until June 2025. While it might not have happened as soon as some would’ve wanted, he’s with the team now. Rodgers even participated in the first session of OTAs.

The Steelers shared a video of Rodgers throwing to Michael Pittman Jr. during practice. While players aren’t even in pads yet, it’s a hint at what could be an important connection for Pittsburgh this season. Pittman gives the Steelers an upgrade at wide receiver that they desperately needed. Hopefully, he and Rodgers connect a lot in 2026.

RAVENS JOINT PRACTICES

OTAs are in full swing for the Steelers. Their quarterback situation is figured out, and their team is now focused on jelling. However, they figure to have stiff competition in the AFC North. Specifically, the Baltimore Ravens are hoping to bounce back after their down season last year. They’ve also got a new head coach, so they’ll look a little different this year.

The Ravens announced on Twitter that they’ll host a few joint practices with other teams in August. They’ll have one session with the Minnesota Vikings and another with the Washington Commanders. They’ll play both teams in the preseason. It’s currently unclear if the Steelers will have any joint practices this year.

We will practice twice against the Minnesota Vikings at TCO Performance Center from Aug. 19-20.

FORMER STEELERS AT UPMC EVENT

Charlie Batch might not be as accomplished as other Steelers quarterbacks, but he was still a fan favorite. Batch was a reliable backup quarterback from 2002-2012, helping the team win two Super Bowls. While he’s been retired for a while, Batch still stays involved with the Pittsburgh community.

Batch stated on Twitter that he and some other former players will attend a UPMC event shining a spotlight on men who have survived cancer. Former Steelers Arthur Moats and Rashard Mendenhall will also be there. It goes to show how former Steelers stay connected with Pittsburgh.
