Despite not even having made the move to Chelsea yet, Emanuel Emegha is letting his ego shine through after a comment at Strasbourg about his future.
Emanuel Emegha hasn’t had the season he would have hoped for at Strasbourg. Appointed club captain last summer, the 23-year-old has netted eight goals across all competitions.
His campaign has also been filled with friction. Having agreed a pre-transfer with Chelsea back in September on a seven-year contract, Emegha has faced significant backlash and jeers from the Strasbourg faithful. Tensions regularly boiled over, notably after he posed with a Chelsea shirt midway through the season.
However, the Blues need a forward and Emegha has the potential; he just needs to keep a level head and listen if he wants to develop at Stamford Bridge.
What would you go with for the Spurs game? A back three or back four?

Emanuel Emegha describes Chelsea as his ‘next step’
Speaking on the Ligue 1+ channel on TikTok, Emanuel Emegha shared an insight into the feelings behind his move to Chelsea, as well as a promise that BlueCo made to him.
“BlueCo told me I could stay one more year, get to Europe and play in it, I played a big role in it as well.
“I understand the criticism from Strasbourg fans, but they also must understand I’m a footballer, I want to go as high as I can and Strasbourg is not my end destination; Chelsea is a good next step for me.”

Chelsea fans less than impressed with Emanuel Emegha
It came as no surprise to see the negative replies from some Chelsea fans after the comments.
Perhaps it’s his wording, but given his history at Strasbourg and how he’s conducted himself at times, it’s not the best of comments to have made.
One fan had this to say.
“*If Chelsea isn’t the end destination, then maybe he should just stay there. Not that good of a player to get to such a good destination anyway.*“
Another pointed out the ‘next step’ comment.
“Good, next step? Interesting choice of words. He’s fighting a losing battle already because I reckon most fans would rather see Jackson back than him anywhere near our team.”
The theme was there for all to see, with over 450 people liking this comment from a fan.
“Sounds like he’s gonna say the same to Chelsea in the future.”
