Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has been in contention for the Real Madrid job, although Jose Mourinho is set to get the position.
Earlier this year, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain of Real Madrid initiating contact with the Spaniard.
This report surfaced a month after Aston Villa director Damian Vidagany said Real Madrid and Barcelona don’t value Emery a lot.
Emery arrived at Villa Park in November 2022 and transformed the club since then.

Under his orders, the Villans qualified for the Champions League for the first time in over four decades during the 2024/25 season.
This season, the former Arsenal boss has already helped them qualify for the Champions League and made it to the Europa League final.
Other clubs keen on Aston Villa manager
The Premier League side face SC Freiburg in the final on Wednesday. Ahead of this clash, Radio Marca spoke to director to mainly discuss Emery.
Damian Vidagany has said that as well as Real Madrid, several other clubs are keen on Unai Emery.
“We have, if not the best, one of the two or three best coaches in the world,” he said.
“Not only at Real Madrid, but at many top clubs around the world, Unai’s name has been and continues to be on the table.”
Despite this, the English club remain calm.
“Unai is happy here at Aston Villa,” Vidagany explained.
The director heaped praise on the former Sevilla and Villarreal boss for transforming Aston Villa into a club regularly playing in Europe.
“He has been able to create not just a team, but a structure. We have created a different culture,” he added.
“We’re talking about a manager who took over a team that was 17th in England and has led them to European competition four years in a row.”
Aston Villa can take next step under Emery
The Spanish manager has guided his current club regularly to European competitions. The next big step is to win silverware.
He can help Aston Villa achieve it tomorrow by overcoming SC Freiburg and winning the Europa League. Since Unai Emery took over, it’s the first time the club have made it to a final.
