Every result Chelsea need to go their way to still qualify for the Champions League next season

Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League for next season have been thought of as gone for some time now, however there are a set of results between now and the end of the campaign which could see them make it.

The Blues endured a woeful run of Premier League results under Liam Rosenior, eventually ending his tenure at the club amid their slump down the table.

Supporter feeling has certainly increased in the hours following the defeat in the FA Cup final after the club announced that Xabi Alonso was set to take over ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

What are you expecting from Alonso’s first season in charge?

Every result Chelsea need to qualify for the Champions League this season

The loss at Wembley put a dent in their chances of reaching the Europa League, however nearly every result going their way in the final few days of the season would actually see them qualify for the Champions League.

First of all, the Blues need to do their job. They need to find a win at Stamford Bridge against Tottenham, and beat Sunderland on the final day of the season.

Then, they need Aston Villa to win the Europa League, and finish sixth in the league. This would come from them losing to Manchester City, and Liverpool beating Brentford on the last day, with a three goal swing.

There are a number of sides currently between Chelsea and the top six, although all of them face tough games to close out the season.

The Blues need Bournemouth to lose their final two games, although they are against both City and Nottingham Forest, who have shown great signs recently.

What would you go with for the Spurs game? A back three or back four?

Chelsea Predicted XI vs Tottenham

Brighton would be the last team Chelsea need to drop points. Even a draw against Manchester United would be enough for the Blues to overtake them, assuming they win their final two games.

Securing Champions League football, as unlikely as it is, would see Alonso find it easier to bring in big-name signings ahead of his first season in charge.

The Spaniard wants two new centre-backs when he arrives at the club, potentially hinting he will consider operating in a back three in West London.
