Chelsea have confirmed that Xabi Alonso will be their first-team manager from July 1st, and now attention has turned towards their summer transfer window as a result.
The Spaniard has been handed the job on a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge, and it's expected that the Blues will look to bring in a number of experienced players to help balance out the squad after a disappointing campaign this year under Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior, which has left them looking likely to miss out on Champions League football.
But that hasn't stopped the club from identifying some targets for the window, including some of the top players in world football.
Chelsea Hold Talks to Sign Osimhen
Victor Osimhen
One position Chelsea are keen to strengthen ahead of the new campaign is at number nine, and according to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have now held talks about a potential move to sign Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen, who has been described as 'the best striker in the world', has been a long-term target at Stamford Bridge in recent years, but finances and the club's recruitment policy meant that a deal didn't materialise, with the Nigerian instead signing for Galatasaray permanently following a successful loan spell.
After netting 22 goals and registering eight assists in 33 games this season, Osimhen's representatives are once again looking at options for his next move, as he looks to join an 'elite' club in Europe to further his career.
It's understood that Chelsea have been contacted about a move to sign the 27-year-old, and even though they likely won't be playing in the Champions League next season, Osimhen is understood to be open to the move as he would love to play under Alonso.
Galatasaray don't want to lose their star forward, however, and it's believed that it could take a fee of around €100m (£87m) to convince the Turkish champions to sanction a sale.
Osimhen Would Be a Game Changer

Chelsea need a prolific number nine to lead the line, and Osimhen ticks every box that a club could want in a leading striker.
Joao Pedro has enjoyed a fantastic season in that position, scoring over 20 goals in all competitions, but he is at his best playing just off a striker, and Osimhen could help unlock a new level with him. Add Cole Palmer and Estevao into that mix too, and Chelsea have an elite attack to compete at the highest level.
£87m isn't cheap, but Chelsea chiefs have never been scared to splash the cash for someone they believe is the right fit for what they want, and this could prove to be yet another instance of that.
