Manchester City duo are wanted in the transfer market
Manchester City duo Bernardo Silva and Omar Marmoush have both been informed about a possible move to Galatasaray this summer.
Sabah report on the Manchester City pair today. The newspaper explains that while the Turkish side are sounding out Silva, Marmoush has also ‘received information’.
Manchester City duo on the phone
They explain that the pair have been on the phone with former Manchester City midfielder İlkay Gündoğan, who explained as much recently.
“Some of my former teammates called me and asked questions about the club and the league, but I don’t want to give names,” he recently admitted.
Sabah now report that those two players are Omar Marmoush and Bernardo Silva. When it comes to the former, the report claims that he picked up the phone to contact Gündoğan directly and receive information about Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old is likely to be targeted if the Turkish side decide not to retain Mauro Icardi this summer. That decision is yet to be made.
Bernardo Silva in demand
Bernardo Silva, meanwhile, is a long-term target. He’s set to become a free agent this summer when his contract at the Etihad expires. But there is competition around Europe, with Juventus particularly keen on him.
The 31-year-old wants to continue his career with a team that is in the Champions League. Galatasaray can certainly offer that.
What Marmoush may want from his next team isn’t made clear. But it seems he is looking around and assessing his options ahead of the summer.
The Egyptian has barely made an impact at the Etihad since arriving last year after flourishing in Germany, playing a back up role behind Erling Haaland. He’s now also fallen behind several other options, such as Ryan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo.
He will surely, though, want to see what the plans at Manchester City will be post Pep Guardiola. That could change his thinking considerably, even if he’s spoken to Gündoğan about life in Türkiye.
