Chelsea handed Jarrod Bowen transfer boost by West Ham news

Chelsea will see one of their London rivals get relegated this season. Which one? That is what is still unclear. The Blues might end up having a say though. They will welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Stamford Bridge tonight. If Spurs can even get a point, they are as good as safe due to their superior goal difference. And if they win, they will mathematically avoid relegation with a game to spare.

As for West Ham United, things are not looking good. It looks like they are likely to get relegated from the Premier League and that could have a long-term impact on the club.

It could see some of their best players depart. One of them is Jarrod Bowen. There is no lack of interest in his signature, with Chelsea being one of those interested. And there is further good news if you want to see him in a Royal Blue jersey next season.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in Bowen. And West Ham United will need to raise more than £100 million if they are relegated from the Premier League.

Why Bowen could be the perfect signing for Chelsea

There has been a ton of talk about Chelsea trying to sign ready-made, Premier League-experienced players this summer. Bowen would fit that definition perfectly.

Nobody can deny his output during his time at West Ham United. He has 21 goal contributions in what has been a horror season for the Hammers.

In five straight seasons, he has had more than 20 goal contributions. He had 24 last season, 30 in 23/24, 21 in 22/23 and 31 in 21/22. So, he knows how to make an impact in the final third of the pitch. Chelsea do not have enough players with that quality.

Bowen could fit Alonso’s system

While there has been a lot of talk about Alonso playing with three at the back, in reality, Alonso does not have a rigid system. He is someone who has always maintained, even going back to his playing days, that top teams need to have several plans.

That would mean that he will look at players who are versatile. And Bowen is someone who falls under that bracket.

The 29-year-old has played most of his football on the right flank this season, but he can play as a centre-forward, a second striker or even on the left flank. So, the West Ham United captain would solve a lot of headaches for Chelsea, if they can sign him.
