Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo has been superb since his blockbuster transfer move from Brentford last summer.

Mbeumo enjoyed a thrilling first half of the campaign and was even ahead of Bruno Fernandes in the race for the club’s Player of the Year honour.

With the season set to conclude this weekend, Fernandes has left him miles behind but one cannot ignore the value of the big goals scored by the Cameroonian.

Mbeumo recently became the third United player to hit double figures in goals this season after scoring against Nottingham Forest.

Here we look at the top five goals from Mbeumo this season.

The first two goals of the season for United were own goals from opponents.

The wait for a proper United scorer finally ended in the third league game when Mbeumo fired the Red Devils into a 2-1 lead.

Diogo Dalot did terrific work at the byline before cutting a cross back for the former Brentford star.

The forward attacked the cross with conviction and powered his finish beyond the goalkeeper.

The afternoon somehow became even sweeter when Fernandes buried a dramatic 97th-minute penalty to seal victory.

United produced one of their most iconic results in years by defeating Liverpool at Anfield for the first time in nine years.

Liverpool had a shambolic season but they were right on the money before the Red Devils visited their territory.

Mbeumo stunned Anfield with a strike inside 120 seconds.

The 26-year-old completely embarrassed Virgil van Dijk with a perfectly timed run behind the Dutch defender.

It was a significant moment, not only for United but also for Liverpool, who never truly recovered from that damaging defeat.

The first goal of the Michael Carrick era was scored by Mbeumo.

United controlled large parts of the derby but had to wait patiently before finally breaking the deadlock after 65 minutes.

The move began with Fernandes producing a moment of pure magic by driving almost the entire length of the pitch on the counter-attack.

Mbeumo timed his run to perfection, received the pass in stride and calmly slotted his finish into the bottom-right corner.

It was a ruthless finish from a player in form.

Mbeumo had already punished Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season.

It almost felt inevitable that Arsenal would eventually become the next victim.

The Red Devils started brilliantly at the Emirates before an unfortunate own goal from Lisandro Martinez shifted momentum back towards the home side.

The Cameroonian pressed with great energy and eventually forced a mistake out of Martin Zubimendi.

Mbeumo intercepted the weak back-pass intended for David Raya before coolly slotting beyond the stranded goalkeeper.

Mbeumo’s goals carried huge importance for United, but this one felt especially emotional for the forward personally.

He came into the game enduring an agonising run of 11 matches without a goal and had even been dropped to the bench twice by Carrick.

An injury to Benjamin Sesko handed Mbeumo another opportunity to lead the line.

The afternoon initially threatened to become another frustrating experience after he squandered three glorious chances at Old Trafford.

Just when the pressure was mounting, Mbeumo finally found redemption in the 76th minute.

Fernandes whipped in a magnificent delivery from the right flank and Mbeumo made no mistake with the finish.

The goal not only secured third place for United but also helped Fernandes create Premier League history with his record-equalling 20th assist of the campaign.
