Arsene Wenger has delivered a congratulatory message to Arsenal following their confirmation as Premier League champions. The Gunners officially won the title on Tuesday night after Manchester City failed to beat Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
City were held to a 1-1 draw with the Cherries, with Eli Junior Kroupi’s goal being cancelled out by a strike from Erling Haaland in the closing minutes on the south coast.
As a result, Arsenal now have an unassailable four-point lead over City going into the final match of the season on Sunday, where the Gunners will travel to face Crystal Palace.
After Arsenal were confirmed as Premier League champions, the Gunners posted a video on their official X account, which included a message from Wenger.
Wenger, the last manager to win the Premier League title with Arsenal, delivered a clear message of congratulations to Mikel Arteta and the Gunners.
“You did it. Champions go on when others stop,” Wenger said.
“This is your time. Now, go on and enjoy every moment.”
Arsenal’s title win is the club’s first in 22 years, with Wenger guiding the Gunners to the famous Invincible title victory back in 2004.
Arsenal will now face Crystal Palace on Sunday at Selhurst Park, where Arteta and Co. will lift the trophy as champions.
Arteta spoke to the Arsenal home crowd after the 1-0 win over Burnley on Monday night, on what proved to be the eve of the club’s confirmation as Premier League champions.
“It is an absolute joy to witness the transformation and contribution each of you have had to turn this place into the most beautiful place to enjoy and play our football games,” Arteta said.
“This is the soul of this football club. Make sure that every time you step in this stadium you have the responsibility to keep these standards because it makes such a difference to us and the players.”
The Gunners also have a chance to add another trophy to their collection this season, with the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on the horizon later this month.
